Stencilling Using Butterflies Thinlits

When I saw this Technique on France Martin's blog, I knew it would be perfect for my monthly Technique class  .....  and that my ladies would love it :o)

Because it's so quick to do, my ladies created two cards - shown above. These are pretty much CASE'd from France's.

This is such a pretty technique. France used Shimmer card to create her mask/stencil, but I just used ordinary card and it worked perfectly.

I started with a piece of scrap card larger than the card layer that I wanted to stencil and used the large Butterflies Thinlit to cut the  Butterfly into the centre of it. The Big Shot Die Brush removed all the little pieces from the cut Butterfly.

I placed a little Temporary Adhesive on the reverse of the Butterfly and the piece of card I cut it from. The Butterfly was then centred over the card I wanted to stencil ..... and the piece of card I cut it from was placed back around the Butterfly. This protects your card from any stray ink :o)

I held everything in place and used Sponge Daubers to colour the images through the stencil. I used three different shades of ink on each of the cards.

The Butterfly body and antenna come from the Watercolour Wings stamp set.

The sentiment is from the Hostess stamp set, Floral Wings.
