Painted Poppies - My 'Go-To' Card Layout

Do you have a 'go-to' card layout that you use when you just want to 'play'? This is mine - with the image in bottom right corner :o)

I find I use it a lot when I haven't a specific idea in my head but want to use a new stamp set and perhaps other new products.

It may be a 'go-to' and it's simple and quick, but I can change it up with endless possibilities ...

This is probably as simple as it gets ...

I stamped the Poppies using Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly onto the Whisper White panel. These were then coloured using the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

I used Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green for the flowers and then outlined the image using the light Pool Party Blends marker.

The sentiment was kept simple - from Label Me Bold. I used the same one for all the cards, stamping it with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossing with Clear powder.

The Poppies for this second card were also stamped directly onto the Whisper White panel. This time though, I embossed the panel using the Subtle Folder to add some beautiful texture.

I also created a second layer for the flower heads and added these with dimensionals. I loved this extra dimension, so did the same for all the remaining cards.

The colours used were Poppy Parade and Old Olive.

For this third card, I used the new Coastal Weave folder - which I had just received.

I stamped the Poppies onto a piece of Whisper White and then die cut this using one of the Stitched Shapes Oval dies. I used the Subtle folder again on this and then layered it onto a Black Scalloped Oval created from one of the Layering Oval dies.

I used the Purple Posy and Mint Macaron Blends markers for the colouring this time.

Another new embossing folder has been used for this fourth card. This time Absolutely Argyle - I love the texture in this folder!

The Poppies were again stamped onto a Whisper White mat. I die cut them using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies and layered the panel onto a Basic Black mat.

The colours used for this one were Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow. I also outlined the image with light Pool Party again.

And finally, my last card :o)

I used one of the papers from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper pack for the background.

The Poppies were stamped onto Whisper White and die cut using another of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The Basic Black mat that the Poppies are layered onto was hand cut.

I used Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green for the colouring and again outlined the image using the light Pool Party Blends.
