Blessings Of Home - Thank You

The images in the Blessings Of Home stamp set are beautiful ... I am so happy that I bought this one in the end (I wasn't planning to!).

I said in a previous post that the sentiments were really what stopped me getting this sooner - I just wouldn't use most of them as they are.

BUT ... I can change them to make them more to my taste :o)

This sentiment actually includes 'For Inspiring Me' underneath it. Now I could have cut this off the stamp but because I like to sell all my sets once retired, generally I don't like to operate of them! So another way of excluding the words that aren't require is to mask them off when you ink up the stamp.

You need to ensure that your stamp is completely clean first - you don't want a 'ghost' image to appear when you stamp it. Then just cover the words not required with tape - masking, washi, sello etc. Ink up the stamp as normal and then remove the tape before stamping. This method is especially good when you are stamping directly onto a panel.

You may also find that you can stamp the complete sentiment but cut away the words not required. When you have lovely straight sentiments like the ones in this set, that can be super simple to do too and if you are using a little strip of card for your sentiment it may be the best way to go :o)

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using Copic Markers. I know ... shock, horror! Not a Stampin' Up! product - however these are the alcohol markers that I prefer to use for many reasons.

I have been collecting them for a couple of years now and you will see me use them more and more. I have been trying not to buy any more Stampin' Blends - but I'm actually finding that quite hard to do - especially when we get new colours :o) So you will still see those in use too.

The Basic White panel was embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D folder - my current favourite for adding some lovely texture to a project!
