Beautiful Birthday Blooms Party Hat! - Sneak Peek!!

At the start of each quarter Stampin' Up send all their Demonstrators a copy of their Stampin' Success magazine. This wonderful magazine is full of Business tips and Project ideas.

On the front of the magazine this time was this beautiful Party Hat :o) I just had to re-create it - or my version of it anyway. I missed off a couple of the products used on the original - but otherwise it's pretty close :o)

There are several new products used on this project .....

The gorgeous flower comes from the Birthday Blooms stamp set - and the sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

The die cut flower and leaves were created using the Rose Garden Thinlits dies.

The embellishment used at the top was created using two of our new Honeycomb Embellishments - stuck back to back to create a ball.

The paper I used to make the Hat comes from our new It's My Party 12" x 12" Stack.

The flower was stamped using Black Stazon onto our Shimmery White card and then water coloured using our Aqua Painter and ink pads.

Sneak Peek Items Will Be Available In Store From 5th January

Swallowtail - Thank You Card

This was the third and final card my ladies created in my Technique class this month. Again, the design is very much inspired by a beautiful card created by Tina Zinck.

The Technique is called Block Fill and you would normally use a marker to fill in the block. I couldn't do this because I only own one Pool Party marker and with so many people in class it would have needed too much 'resting' in-between each person using it to re-charge .... so I decided to use the Aqua Painters and ink pads instead :o)

The beautiful butterfly was stamped using Basic Grey ink. I then created my 'Block' by drawing a light pencil line 2cm in from all the sides. The inside of this was then filled using the Aqua Painter with the Pool Party ink pad. Once dry, the pencil line can be erased.

The decorative border is optional and I did this using the Basic Grey marker.

The butterfly was also coloured using the Aqua Painter and various Subtles Collection ink pads.

Festival Of Trees

This was another of the Technique cards my ladies made in class this month.

Again .... it showcases a simple technique .... but a useful one.

Some people find it really difficult to get glue onto the back of intricate die cuts - like the 'Merry' on this card - it can be very frustrating for them. I have a couple of ladies that struggle with this, even when using the new Fine Tip Glue Pen - so this alternate way is perfect for them.

Basically you just lay down a strip of Tear Tape adhesive and remove the backing. Then you stick your die cut directly on to it. Glitter is then added to cover all the remaining exposed sticky areas .... and you are done.

I used Dazzling Diamonds for this card, so it's very subtle but lovely and sparkly :o)

Festival of Trees is another of the stamp sets from last year that carried over into our Annual Catalogue.

I stamped the trees in Lost Lagoon and then added the trim in Cherry Cobbler. The 'baubles' were stamped in Versamark before heat embossing with Silver embossing powder.
