Embossing With Framelits - Using Floral Frames - Video Tutorial

Good Morning :o) I am still playing with the Floral Frames bundle .... and I'm not stopping just yet. I absolutely love these products!

In my last Blog post, I showed you a card I had created using one of the new Big Shot Embossing Mats. You can see it HERE. I used the Mat to emboss the shape and detail of an Edgelit into my card. I used the thin Blue Mat to do this.

When creating today's cards, I used the other Mat - the thick Gray one. You use this one when you cut out the shape of a framelit or thinlit and then emboss with it afterwards.

I created the Video (below) showing you how to use each of these Mats.

This was my original card. The paper used for the background is from the Tranquil Textures paper pack.

The sentiment is from the Floral Frames stamp set. Everything else (apart from the little bird) was created using the coordinating Foliage Frame framelit dies and the Embossing Mats.

This is the actual card I created in the Video. I changed a few things from the original and love how it came out :o)

The little bird comes from the Birds & Blooms thinlits dies ... he was the perfect size for my card :o)

Here is the Video ....

Floral Frames - Embossing With Framelits

Hi There :o)

Have you spotted the Big Shot Embossing Mats (146327) in the Annual Catalogue (UK page 221)? Did you wonder what they were for? I have used them for today's card :o)

This set consists of 3 pieces. The Impressions Pad (white), a thin Silicone Mat (Blue) and a thick Silicone Mat (Grey).

You use the Impressions Pad together with one of the Silicone mats. Which one to use depends on what you want to do. If you want to emboss a shape after it has been die cut, then you will use the Grey mat. If you just want to emboss a framelit/thinlit shape into cardstock, then you use the Blue mat.

I used one of the beautiful Delicate Lace Edgelits dies for my card. I didn't want to cut, just emboss, so I used the Blue Silicone mat in my Big Shot sandwich.

My sandwich was as follows:

Big Shot Platform (without the adapter for thin dies)
Cutting Pad
Die - cutting edge UP
Cardstock
Blue Silicone Mat
White Impressions Pad

I positioned the die onto my card and taped it in place before turning it upside down to run it through the machine.

If you would like to see this in 'action', I will be posting a Video showing you how I create another card on Friday this week. This will also show you exactly how I created the background panel for this card. After Friday, I will add a direct link to the Video post  HERE :o)

The paper used here comes from the Share What You Love Specialty paper pack. This has a gorgeous pearlised finish on most of the papers.

The lovely frame is from the Floral Frames bundle. I coloured it using our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut out with one of the Layering Ovals framelits. I used my Blackberry Bliss Marker to go around the edge of this mat to make it 'pop' a little more .... you could use the Blends Marker to do this as well.

More Best Bunny

Today I am sharing another card created using the Best Bunny stamp set. I really do love this set for New Baby cards!

I used the Twinkle Twinkle papers again - just because they are perfect too and I really enjoy the colours used!

The stamp set has a matching punch and these are available together as a Bundle for a 10% saving on price. I used the punch for the larger Bunnies.

The stitching on the background DSP was drawn freehand using the Night of Navy Marker and a ruler. I also used the Marker to go around the edges of the large white circle mat and the two DSP Banners. This makes them 'PoP' more on the card.
