Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Fabulous Fun Fold

Here are the projects I created for this month's Hop ...

I used the Seas The Day stamp set and coordinating Sea Dies to create a Simple Diorama Card together with a Box to present it in.

The Video to show you how I made the Diorama Card is below. In my next post (on Monday) I will add another Video to show you how I created the Box.

These Diorama cards are super simple to create. Basically you just need 2 panels of card stock in the same size - I used Balmy Blue for mine.

The two cards shown are a little different to each other. For this first one I used paper from the retired Whale of a Time 6" Designer Series Paper pack. It included beautiful sea based backgrounds so was perfect for this project.

I also used 6" square panels to create this first card. Unfortunately that meant that you either had to use half a sheet of 12"x12" card or you had to cut into two of your standard size sheets to create the panels. 

This is the card I created in the Video. I decided to alter the sizing slightly so you can get both panels from one standard size sheet of card - either A4 or 8½" x 11".

The paper I used in the background this time comes from the Simply Marbelous 6" Designer Series Paper pack. This is one of the FREE items you can select during our current Sale-a-Bration promotion (with a qualifying purchase).

There is a large panel on the back of the card where you can write your message.

You can see the two panels in the above photo.

This is the Box I created to hold the card. 

If the card is pressed flat it will fit into a standard size envelope for a 6" square card. I decided to create a box so that the shape of the card is retained and the recipient will not need to 'work out' how it stands up :o)

Balmy Blue                                               A4 length (29.7cm) x 15.2cm (6”)

                                                                        (US 11” x 6”)

 

With the SHORT side across the TOP, score down on each side at: ½” and 1”

 

Cut in half lengthways at                14.85cm                       (US 5½”)

 

Note: If you use A4 as your standard sheet of card – follow the metric measurements (cms).

If you use 8½” x 11” as your standard sheet of card – follow the imperial measurements (inches).

 

Calypso Coral                                       14.5cm x 9.8cm           (US 5⅜” x 3⅞”) 

Basic White                                           14.2cm x 9.5cm           (US 5¼” x 3¾”) 

Simply Marbelous DSP                   14.85cm x 10.1cm     (US 5½” x 4”)

 

 

You will need extra Basic White, Calypso Coral, Bumblebee, Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green card to complete the project.

Seas The Day - Birthday

Today I'm sharing a card created using the Seas The Day stamp set and coordinating Sea Dies.

This is such a quick and simple card to create and is perfect for my 'Men' pile - although you could give this one to anyone!

The paper used is from the Whale of a Time 6" Designer Series Paper pack - which is now retired. I had loads of this left though fortunately because it's a perfect background to use with the Seas The Day stamp set.

The sentiment comes from the Celebrating You stamp set.

Happy Hedgehogs - Just For You - Video Tutorial

I inked up a new stamp set for today's Video - the Happy Hedgehogs!

I haven't used the Hedgehogs this time - and there is a matching punch for them - but I did use the other smaller images in the set.

I chose some of the papers from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper pack - I love the ginghams especially!

The images were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

The contrast colour used for this first card is Pale Papaya.

This is the card I created in the Video.

I changed the contrast colour to Bumblebee but everything else was the same as the first card.

I outlined all the images using the Light Pool Party Blends marker, this makes them 'pop'.
