Beauty & Joy with Heirloom Frames

I fell in love with the Beauty & Joy stamp set as soon as I saw it ... so of course it was on my first order. This last week I got to play with it :o)

One of the reasons I love it is that its one of those sets that you can use not only for Christmas or for any other occasion. I did decide to make a Christmas card first though :o)

I wanted to frame my topiary, so chose to use one of the Heirloom Frame dies and embossing folders. I created this in Gold Foil, so pulled out my Wrapped In Plaid 6" specialty papers to go with it - they have gold running through them.

I stamped the Pot first in Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White card and then stamped the stems in Early Espresso. The Holly was next in Shaded Spruce. I stamped the Holly again onto scrap Whisper White card and heat embossed the Berries onto it using the Delicata Golden Glitz ink and Gold Embossing Powder. The three layers were then cut out by hand.

I cut out the stamped panel using one of the Oval Stitched Shapes dies - you could omit this completely if you wanted to. I like that you can just see the stitching around the inside edge of the Gold frame. I also ran this through my die cutting machine with the Subtle Folder to add a little texture.

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and I cut it out using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies, adjusting the length of it when I put it through my die cutting machine.

Beautiful Christmas Cards using Perfectly Plaid - Video Tutorial

In today's Video I show you how to create these cards. They all use the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, but it may not be immediately obvious where I used the Tree stamp :o)

Sometimes it nice to do something a little different with a stamp set and I chose to do that with this one today.

I used the Tree stamp on the small centre background panel just to add a pattern.

I love how shiny and bright these cards are, just perfect for Christmas :o)

I used our new Delicata Pigment Inks on all these cards. This first one uses Golden Glitz.

These inks are gorgeous! And .... they dry all on their own. We have had metallic inks in the past that didn't do that :o) It only takes a few minutes too, so you don't have to wait long at all.

All the cards are identical in design and layout, I just changed up the colours. This one uses Celestial Copper.

The Trees were stamped with Night of Navy ink on to the panel and then the leaves were coloured using the Delicata inks. I used an Aqua Painter brush for this.

I also coloured the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series paper used for the background of each of them. This all took some time, but the remainder of the cards came together very quickly.

This is the card I created in the Video. I used the Silvery Shimmer ink for this one.

I really like all three of them, so no favourite this time :o)
