Embossing with Stencils (Masks) using Stampin' Up! products

My Video for today will show you how I emboss using Stencils ... or Masks.

I also show you four quick and simple finishing techniques for your projects.

I used all four of the stencils in the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks set, using a different technique for each of them.

This first one was very difficult to photograph .... and even show in the Video!

After embossing, I spritzed the card with Shimmer that I had made myself using Isopropyl (Rubbing Alcohol) and our Frost White Shimer Paint. The Rubbing Alcohol needs to be about 70% and you want to add about 15 drops depending on the size of your spritzer. Give it a good shake and then spray away :o)

The result you get is really lovely. It's a beautiful shimmer.

The sentiment and Holly images come from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. I coloured them using our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I also covered the Berries using our new Shimmery Chrystal Effects.

The mats were cut out using the Rectangle Stitched dies.

This is my favourite of all the cards :o)

After embossing the mat, I used a Clear Wink Of Stella pen to go over all the raised areas. Again the shimmer you get with this is just beautiful.

The deer was cut out using one of the Detailed Deer Thinlits dies. I cut 3 in Black card and 1 in Gold Foil. These were all then stacked together to give the Deer lots of dimension.

The sentiment comes from the Dashing Deer stamp set.

The ribbon is our Metallic Edge Ribbon in Gold. I coloured this using the Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends marker.

For my third embossed panel, I positioned it back under the stencil and using a Blending Brush applied Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink all over the raised areas.

This ink dries quite quickly and doesn't smear at all.

The sentiment for this card came from one of the new Autumn / Winter Host stamp sets - Greatest Part of Christmas. I love how large it is.

I stamped the greeting using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Heat Embossed it with Clear powder. The mat was cut out using one of the Rectangle Stitched framelits.

For my final embossed mat, I again repositioned it under the stencil after coating it with my Embossing Buddy. I then pressed Versamark all over the raised areas before covering with our new Shimmer White embossing powder. This was then melted using the Heat Tool.

This lovely powder is white with silver glitter. Obviously, you can't see the white on this card, but you can see the lovely glitter on all the polka dots :o)

Both the image and sentiment came from the Snowman Season stamp set. The ribbon is our Silver Metallic Ribbon and the background paper is from the Subtles 6" paper stack, in Pool Party.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiment, overstamped it with Versamark and again heat embossed it in Clear powder.
