Beach Happy - More Sunny Days

Good Morning! Today I'm showing you the last of the Beach Happy cards that I created last week.

I did a little sponging on the circle mat before stamping, using both Balmy Blue and So Saffron. The image was then stamped in Basic Grey ink. I used my Blender Pen and Crumb Cake ink to fill in the frame on the Deck Chair.

I then did a little paper piecing. I stamped the images onto Pacific Point DSP from the Brights 6" paper stack and then cut out the bits I needed by hand and stuck them on to the image.

I created a little mask for the sun using a Circle Punch and sponged the 'sky' part first. I then switched my mask to protect the sky and sponged the Sun. I used So Saffron ink first and then a little Calypso Coral ink.

And ..... guess what????? :o) I hand drew the Birds! I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to do this and they came out great! I was really pleased, this is something I'll usually mess up completely! :o)

Hand Delivered - With Paper Piecing

I've used another new stamp set for my cards today. That's 'new' to me, not new to Stampin' Up! :o) Hand Delivered is one of the Hostess stamp sets available in the current Annual catalogue.

I have had this set since it was released back in June - but this is its first inking! I am determined to get a play with all of the sets I own that I haven't yet used ..... and I still have quite a few more! :o)

I kept the cards very simple. I only wanted one layer, so they would be Post friendly.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the Balloons first towards the top of the Whisper White panel and then followed with the Skirt and Legs image. The stamp set is Photopolymer, so it was easy to line these images up together.

I used my Stampin' Blends Alcohol markers to colour the images. For this first one I used Shaded Spruce, Call Me Clover and Mint Macaron. I also used Highland Heather for the Shirt and Ivory for the skin.

The paper used for both cards comes from the Subtles 6" Designer Series paper stack.

I stamped the skirt once on to each colour (Highland Heather and Mint Macaron) and then cut them out by hand.

The sentiment was stamped using Black Versafine ink (not sold by SU) and then heat embossed using Clear powder.

The colours used for this second card are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry and Highland Heather. I used Mint Macaron for the Shirt this time.

It was interesting to see that there is very little difference in shades between the light and dark Blackberry Bliss and the Rich Razzleberry. I bet you can't tell which colour I used on each Balloon!

If you are currently collecting the Blends markers, I would recommend that you just get one of these sets - there isn't really enough difference between them to warrant having both in my opinion .... save yourself some pennies :o)

TIP: I almost binned this card when I was colouring it, I had so much bleeding of colour around the Balloons. I continued and finished all the colouring and then dug out my Blends Colour Lifter. This pen is awesome and I do use it often, but never before to correct such a mess of colouring :o) BUT it worked great. I went around all the 'bleeds' and gently pushed the colour back inside the lines. I had to let the areas dry and repeat a couple of times in some areas, but it cleaned everything up really nicely - just requiring a little patience to do so :o)

Outlining the image with the Light Pool Party Blends marker also helps disguise any light bleeding and also makes your image 'pop' beautifully!
