This was my prototype for this project. I used our retired Woven Threads Designer Series paper for it.
The flower was created using the Peony dies. All the pieces were cut from Vellum cardstock. I coloured the reverse using the Dark Purple Posy Stampin' Blends alcohol marker. The leaves were coloured using Old Olive and Mossy Meadow - the stamens were Mango Melody.
In the Video I show you how to create the faceted sides using cardstock, but for this sample, I used more of the paper. It isn't going to be as strong as the cardstock, but it worked out just fine :o)
I used papers from the Boho Indigo Product Medley kit for this bag ... and this time I didn't add a handle - not deliberate, I just forgot and got a little ahead of myself!
The papers in this kit are 6" square so I had to construct the Bag slightly differently this time. I cut a 6" x 2" base from Night of Navy card and attached the front and back sections (6" x 5 1/2") to it. If your paper has a directional pattern on it, then you will need to use this method to construct your Bag. In the Video I used a piece of 12" x 6" paper for the back, base and front of the Bag.
The sides and flap for the Bag are Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. I embossed these pieces using the Ornate Floral folder - which is incredibly pretty!
Instead of using Vellum for my Flower this time, I used cardstock and daubed the edges using the same colour inks. Sadly I didn't put my dauber away after using it and managed to place the Bag on top of it, so I got Navy ink all over the sides - so this Bag is no more. I really hate it when I do things like that! :o)
