Vintage Vogue

I have loved the Vintage Vogue stamp set ever since it came out. I'm so pleased that Stampin' Up! carried it forward into the main catalogue (page 62). It is now available in both wood mount (£22.95) and clear mount (17.95).

The colours on the above card are Soft Suede, River Rock and Rich Razzleberry together with a little Very Vanilla.

I stamped the background onto our new glossy cardstock using the large En Francais stamp (Page 61 £16.95). I then tried a new technique - Faux Linen. Sand the cardstock vertically and horizontally until all the gloss is removed. Lightly sponge ink (River Rock) all over the cardstock and then sand over the surface again. I used the Sanding Block from the Distressing Essentials kit (page 103 £14.95) to do the sanding and it worked a treat :o) I love the finish it's given me - although hard to see in the photo. It gives a beautiful vintage look to the background.

The flower centre is made up of Very Vanilla 3/8" Taffeta ribbon which I dyed with my River Rock Marker pen. I twisted it into a coil and added one of the Basic Pearls (page 99 £4.50) to finish off.

I used Rich Razzleberry 5/8" Satin ribbon for the ruffles. These were so easy to create and I love the look of them - much easier to produce than the pleating I did on my previous class! I think I'll be giving this to my ladies to try soon :o)

More Distressed .......

I've actually had time to play a little this week and have tried out a few new techniques! Vintage Vogue is a truly beautiful stamp set that is perfect for the two main techniques I have used on this card.

The larger background section has been lightly sponged with the three ink colours and then over stamped with the gorgeous vine image.

The main focal point was created using the versamark / spray mist technique. It produces quite a subtle effect - but I really like the look it gives.

I've also used the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit to distress some of the cardstock edges :o)

Vintage Vogue I - Class Instructions

This cute little box and card set was created for one of my April classes. The little box was made to hold a small box of Guylian chocolates.

I used this same design for the little gifts I took for my upline and downline when I attended the Reading training day earlier in the year :o)

This card was inspired by one of the wonderfully talented Jo's designs :o) I've used it many times since - it makes a beautiful card suitable for many occasions and is perfect in all colours :o)

The main stamp set used is Vintage Vogue and is available from the Mini Catalogue for £19.95. The jumbo wheel used is Very Vintage, which compliments the stamp set perfectly. It is also available from the Mini Catalogue for £7.50.

The instructions for the box and the two cards are available to purchase for £2.50. If you are interested, the details are below. I have written the instructions using UK metric measurements.

Birthday Pressie :o)

It's my friend's birthday today and this is what I have made for her. The long box houses her pressie of some of her favourite Clarins handcream :o) The other box is for the card, as it was far to bulky for an envelope.

The colour combination is beautiful. I have used Close to Cocoa with Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla cardstock, together with the new yummy Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon. The bases for the boxes have been stamped with Close to Cocoa ink - using the new Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Mini catty. The lids have been stamped with the same stamp but in Whisper White Craft ink. The gorgeous flowers have been made using the Paper Vellum. Stamped with the En Francais background stamp and then scrunched up and punched with the Scallop Circle punch. The circles were then layered up together and fixed with brads before getting a final scrunching and then carefully opened back out. Huge thanks for Jane for showing how this was done at the Reading training day!

Reading - Stampin' Up! Training Day

I recently spent a fabulous day in Reading with 60+ other Demos training with Stampin' Up! I went with three of my lovely Downline - Kate, Anne and Sue. Whenever you get a group of Demos together we like to take part in swaps and give little gifts and I thought you'd like to see what I made for this event :o)

I used the beautiful Vintage Vogue stamp set and its co-ordinating wheel, Very Vintage for all these projects. I covered notebooks as little gifts for my Downline. The little cards at the back are those I made for general swapping with the other Demos. I also made two little boxes to hold pressies for my Upline, Linda - two bottles of Sanctuary toiletries and for the wonderful Hayley - choccies :o) Hayley was kind enough to organise a product share for lots of the Demos going to Reading and this was a little 'Thank you' gift for her :o)

I know I'm repeating myself, but this really is an absolutely gorgeous stamp set. I have another project to share with you in a few days also using it :o)

The Mini catalogue will be released tomorrow, so check back with me then to download your copy of it.

All products are from Stampin' Up!

Cardstock ......... Whisper White, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst
Pattern Paper ..... Tea Party DSP
Ink ............... So Saffron, Almost Amethyst
Stamps ............ Vintage Vogue, Tiny Tags (New Product), Sincere Salutations (for sentiment)
Punch ............. Medium Jewelry Tag (New Product), Scallop Circle,
Boho Blossoms
Other Products .... Silver Elastic Cord, Crystal Brads, Champagne Shimmer Paint (New Product),

The flowers were made by punching out the DSP using the Scallop Circles and largest flower in the Boho Blossoms punch. They were layered on top of each other and fixed with a brad in the middle. Each layer was then scrunched up around the brad separately. When the layers are then carefully opened again, you get a gorgeous flower :o) I used 8 layers for each of the flowers on the box. I created a shimmer mist using just a few drops of the new Champagne Shimmer paint (coming in the Mini) and sprayed the flowers to give them some bling :o)
