Lovely As A Tree - With Woodland Embossing Folder

This is a Technique that seems to be all over the internet at the moment! And ..... no wonder! It's really effective :o)

STOP PRESS! ... I now have a Video Tutorial showing you how to do this technique. You can find all the details HERE.

If you haven't seen it before ..... it's pretty straightforward to do ...

You need the Woodland Embossing Folder. Open it up and put it flat on your surface. The side that has 'Sizzix' printed on it needs to be at the top - so you get the orientation correct when you stamp.

Use a Brayer, Sponges or Sponge Daubers to ink up the folder to give it some background colour.

I used Sponges and Marina Mist and Night of Navy ink.

Once you are happy with the amount of colour you have, ink up your stamp.

I used Lovely as a Tree and Early Espresso ink. Then just stamp the image right onto the Embossing Folder - on the same 'Sizzix' side. I did this twice, so I had the Trees going all the way across.

Place your card stock onto the clean half of the folder. You can ensure you have it in the 'right' place by partially closing the folder and seeing where the image will transfer.

When you are ready, close the folder and hold it tight - you do not want that card stock to move! Run it through the Big Shot and you are done :o)

I used one of the sentiments from the Flurry Of Wishes stamp set and finished it off with one of our gorgeous Vintage Faceted Buttons and Silver Cord.

Some sparkle was added under the trees using the Fine Tip Glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

I love your card! But could you please give the dimensions of the card? Thank you!

Hi Barbara. The base card is half of a standard piece of card stock folded in half. In Europe this is A4 but in the US a standard size is 8 ½" x 11".

There are two layers - the Early Espresso layer is cut 0.5cm smaller than the front of the base card - so in Europe it would be 14.4cm x 10cm. If in the US it's cut ¼" smaller.

The Whisper White layer is again cut 0.5cm smaller than the previous layer - Early Espresso. In Europe this is 13.9cm x 9.5cm. Us is cut ¼" smaller.

Hope this helps! x
