5 Days Of - Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts

Hi there! :o) I hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend!

Today is the start of a little mini-series I will be doing this week. Each day, Monday to Friday I will be posting a different card created using the fabulous Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts stamp set.

I've had this set since I was able to pre-order it back in December. Unfortunately, I managed to order the wood mount version instead of the Clear mount. I had intended to return it and order the correct version, but never actually got around to it. I was immediately drawn to this set as soon as I saw it - it's just so pretty. But it's just been sat on my shelf waiting for me to swap it :o) Needless to say, too much time has now passed for me to do the exchange, so this weekend I decided to play ..... and I've had a great time!

I have always been a die-hard wood mount girl - the only reason I wanted to switch to clear mount for all my purchases now is because Stampin' Up! have released their stamp positioning platform, the Stamparatus!

I decided that for this series I would only use this stamp set, so no images or sentiments have been pulled from other sets. I also decided that I would use our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to do the colouring :o)

My background layer was stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink. Although I used the Old Olive Blends for the image, this was too dark for the background - so Pear Pizzazz it was :o)

Because I was using Wood Mount stamps, I used the Stamp-a-Ma-jig to position everything.

The image was cut out using one of the Lots of Labels framelits dies. The black layer behind it was hand cut with scissors. I could of used a larger labels framelit but I prefer to have a narrower border around my image, so hand cut it.

The image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, but the sentiment was stamped with Basic Black Archival ink - I prefer to use this when I can as it's a 'blacker' ink, but it isn't alcohol friendly so had to use the Memento for the image.

I hope you will join me for the rest of this series - I have some really beautiful cards to share with you :o)
