Stampin' Up! Curvy Keepsake Box - Lantern

The Curvy Keepsake Box is the perfect size and shape to use as a little Christmas Lantern. The LED Tea Lights you can buy fit perfectly inside.

I used our Card stock Vellum to create the box.

The images are from the Holiday Home stamp set and were stamped with Versamark. They were then heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder and coloured on the reverse with some of our Blendabilities Markers.

I think it will make a lovey addition to my decorations this Christmas :o)

Halloween - Cone Treat Holder

Isn't this cute? :o)

The lovely Helene Legrand had a tutorial on her blog yesterday showing how to create them. I thought they would be perfect to demo for the Party I did last night for Jane and Marion, so I quickly had a go :o)

They are really simple to create - even if you are cone challenged like me .... I've never been able to create them neatly and usually end up with a big hole in the bottom! These were fine though .... and the ladies at the Party loved them :o)

For the basic cone, you need a 6" x 6" piece of DSP and 1 sheet of 12" x 6" of our White Creped Filter Paper.

Helene use a compass to draw and create the curve at the top of her DSP. Now ... although I must buy several of these tools every year for my kids to take to school .... I couldn't find any at all to use - so I just free-styled it with the scissors straight away. They really don't have to be perfect ..... no one will know :o)

Of course I had to decorate this one with a Halloween theme! I used the Holiday Home stamp set and matching framelits to do mine.

I think this must be the most versatile set in the Autumn / Winter catalogue - it's perfect for Halloween, Christmas, New Home, Autumn and Thanksgiving.

Holiday Home - Christmas Card

I love the new Holiday Home photopolymer stamp set! It's just so versatile! It is made up of 24 different stamps. You can create Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Home cards and projects with it :o)

Some of the images are tiny, but they aren't difficult to cut out by hand. There are three different houses in the set and these have a coordinating Framelits set (Homemade Holiday). If you purchase the stamps and framelits together as a Bundle, you save 15% on the price!

I spotted this technique on Helene Legrand's blog this week and wanted to include it with my class this month.

You use one of our Decorative Masks and lay it over your card stock using it like a stencil. Use a sponge dauber to apply White Craft Ink to all the Dots. Remove the mask and let the ink dry before positioning the mask back over the White Craft dots. Offset the mask against these just slightly and then use another dauber to apply a different colour ink.

It's a fun technique that's a bit different and the effect you get is lovely :o)
