Winter Wonderland - #5 Christmas Crackers!

We've had another fabulous week at Winter Wonderland. We now have 120 wonderful followers for the site - thank you everyone for supporting us ..... and thank you to all those who entered our challenge last week!

The challenge for this week is 'Christmas Crackers'. Because it is the last Sunday in the month, we would like to encourage you to make something other than a card this week. BUT don't forget ..... if it's a card you really want to make that's fine too!

All the DT have had great fun with this challenge. It wasn't an easy one, but then we are all up for being 'stretched' from time to time :o) I was keen to have a go. I had wonderful visions in my head of embossed scrolling, beautiful vellum, lace etc. etc. Well!!! :o) after several attempts .... and a small fire! I went with 'simple' :o)

This is my Cracker ........

The cracker is very simple to make. I found a YouTube video giving the basic instructions and went from there :o) I would love for you all to give it a go this week ..... I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

All the products used are from my stash. The sentiment is from the Stampin' UP! stamp set 'Season of Joy'.

I've also made a couple of cards for this week's 'theme' too. Having recently discovered Elzybells stamps, I was keen to use one in particular for this week :o) One card wasn't enough, so I made two!

Cardstock ........ SU Whisper White, SU More Mustard, SU Garden Green
Ink .............. SU More Mustard, SU Garden Green, SU Apricot Blush, SU Close To Cocoa
Stamp Set ........ Elzybells 'Cracker Surprise' and Elzybells sentiment
Ribbon ........... Organza From Stash

The ribbon frame idea came from the The Next Level Challenge Site.

I used my ink pads and Stampin UP!s blender pens to colour the images for these two cards.

Cardstock ........ SU Whisper White, SU More Mustard, SU Ballet Blue
Pattern Paper .... Crafty Bitz Christmas Embossed White Paper
Ink .............. SU More Mustard, SU Ballet Blue, SU Apricot Blush, SU Close To Cocoa
Stamp Set ........ Elzybells 'Cracker Surprise' and Elzybells sentiment
Ribbon ........... SU Ballet Blue Grosgrain, Dovecraft Adhesive Ribbon
Other Products ... Dovecraft Decorative Brad

I chalked the embossed white paper with Stampin' UP!s chalks - using More Mustard and Ballet Blue and really like the effect this has made :o)

Don't forget to check out the blogs of the other DT Members too and see their fabulous projects!

Great ideas. I'm new to Stampin Up but am slowly getting hooked. I've bought 2 stamp sets - Season of Joy and Scandinavian Season and you have been using a lot of both lately and so I'm off to look for more ideas using these stamps. Also, another of my favourite things are Elzybells stamps. So you are definetly a blog I'll visit again
